How We Roll

Pass, light, fail, and falls gotta get the juice running,

Music, chores, walks, and a bit of ego,

Delusions of grandeur, hypothetical sit-downs with Oprah,

Formulaic expressions of thought,

Constant repetition and insane obstinacy,

Self-imposed martyrdom,

Well-justified paranoia,

And,

Perennial distrust of everything and everyone unfamiliar,

Air guitar solos and lulling piano notes,

Times spent in museums,

Creating imaginary life documentaries and signing autographs,

Approving memoirs and nodding to self-righteousness,

Shameless complacency guised as philosophical living,

Recklessly taking walks at midnight,

Erroneously believing in untethered invincibility,

Writing songs and odes,

Fighting pain and keeping demons at bay,

Adopting arrogance in place of confidence,

Being smug and drawing tattoos,

Rebelling from authority and flipping off the world,

Singing along to Panic! At The Disco’s piano version of This is Gospel,

Going sleepless trying to figure out some insane rhyme scheme,

But,

Never finding it,

Yeah,

That’s kinda how we roll.
