Snakes for Hair

Snakes for hair,

A tongue to pair,

A boneless limb,

And rage to spare,

To gaze or stare,

A lethal affair,

The boulders around,

They build up the flair,

Snakes for hair,

But damn, I don’t care,

Ravens and sparrows,

A hawk and a kite,

Stench of a furlough,

A rest of a kind,

Drowned in the shallows,

Surviving the deep,

Snakes for hair,

Alone in a stair,

Transcending the heights,

A bet not a dare,

Solitude forced,

Ripped from their care,

Cold ever course,

Naked and bare,

Snakes for hair,

Marooned in my lair,

My dungeons and dragons,

Partitioned in layers,

Am gasping for air,

Not stench, goo, delayers,

Rip asunder my hair,

But it’s only snakes there.
